Sometimes you just can't take your pet with you on every trip. Even if you did find a pet-friendly hotel, leaving your dog(s) alone in a strange room could still cause you some stress as you went about your activities. And if the thought of a boarding kennel--your dog in a cage listening to howls of other pups--has you wanting to just cancel your trip altogether, then Heather's Hugs-n-Kisses dog care is for you!
Meet Heather
Heather Hooper is a native of the Fort Walton Beach area, born on Eglin Air Force Base. She has a bachelor's degree in Business Management and worked in educational finance before giving it all up to work with and take care of dogs full time. Heather's childhood was one filled with pets, and the well-being of animals has always been important to her. She recently took up fostering displaced dogs and finding them new homes but she also provides a "home-away-from-home" for furry boarders.
A Different Experience!
Feel free to bring your dog's crate as a back-up plan, or as your dog's security blanket until he/she gets used to the surroundings, but at Heather's house, the dogs are not kept in a kennel or crate. It's as if your loved one is at home...just with a few more dogs hanging around. Heather's house is dog-friendly and yours is welcome to roam the place, take a nap on the couch, or head out through the doggie door into a fenced backyard. Best of all, Heather is home all day (and night) to play with, pamper, and cuddle your furry family members!

Whether staying for a day or a week, all the dogs in Heather's home are required to be up-to-date on their immunizations. If your dog has special dietary requirements, Heather will ensure those are met. She can also administer oral medications or injections. All clients are asked to fill out a point-of-contact sheet which will also list the dog's primary veterinarian. However, in the event of immediate, emergency care, there are 3 vet clinics within a 2-mile radius of Heather's home, including one across the street that she has been using for 11+ years! And for that extra peace of mind, Heather welcomes calls and texts from owners on the road. She's been known to email photos of pets relaxing on the couch!
